The weather has definitely taken a “Fall” turn in Iowa. The soybeans are out of the field and hopefully DH is working on the corn today. When he gets done we get to start our porch project. And there is the garage to single before winter…..Debating whether to bring in the potted plants tomorrow night. Usually the building gives off enough heat to kepp them from freezing unless it is REALLY cold.
We have new colors in from The Gentle Art Sampler threads – Island Blue, Pecan Pie and Old Covered Bridge. New ones from Weeks Dye Works should be here the first part of the week – Cornsilk, Pamlico, Battleship and Clockwork. The new Shepherd’s Bush Stocking Charland should be in the box as well. It will use several colors of Crescent and Weeks pearl cotton #5.
The Fall Foliage Fabric Tour has started. Visit all six stores to get your name in a drawing for a shopping spree worth $200 or $100 (2). Plus each store draws from their names for a lovely gift basket worth at least $50.00. Besides Fiberworks Needlework Shop, Moose Patch, also in Waverly, Jen’s Needlework in Aplington, Dralle’s in Greene, Crazy to Quilt and Lulijune’s in Cedar Falls are participating. Regular store hours apply. Turn in your stamped passport (available at any store) by October 31 to be placed in the drawing.
(Still have lots of back issues of free magazines you are welcome to come and look through and take home what you would like.)
