This elegant looking cutwork technique was popular in Norway from 1650-1850 and named after the Hardanger region there. It is uses a simple satin stitch as the base and is easy to do once you know where to stitch and cut. There are many different wraps and fillings that can be used to add a lacy touch to the pieces.
