Periwinkle Promises – Fair Oaks Sampler – Last One!

Description

This pattern is a lovely sampler designed by Barbara Rakosnik with excellent diagrams for the specialty stitches included. The model was worked on 28 count linen (106 x 167 stitches) with silk floss but DMC and Anchor floss substitute numbers are also listed. The verse says “Look well to what you take in hand for learning is better than house or land when land is gone and money is spent then learning is most excellent.” Motifs include acorns, Celtic knot, flowers, leaves, and blackwork.  A fun and learning piece if you are ready to progress beyond simply cross stitches.
