This pattern is a lovely sampler designed by Barbara Rakosnik with excellent diagrams for the specialty stitches included. The model was worked on 28 count linen (62 x 203 stitches) with silk floss but DMC and Anchor floss substitute numbers are also listed. The verse says “How much to be prized and esteemed is a friend on whom we may always with safety depend our joys when extended will always increase and griefs when divided are hushed into peace.” Motifs include acorns and thistles. A fun and learning piece if you are ready to progress beyond simply cross stitches. Last one.
